Cape Fox Year is delighted to debut its Year-in-Review for 2022. The past year was busy, exciting, successful, and welcoming. Commercially, we saw a return of a tourist season, a new business website, and award wins for our commercial businesses. For the Cape Fox Federal Contracting Group (FCG), we debuted a federal subsidiary, gained many new contracts and customers, and saw additional recognition and growth throughout the year.

Everyone at the company contributes daily to the company’s success and any achievements earned. Team Cape Fox has become an industry leader with the force of a unified group of individuals who have led us into the future. The company’s success is our success, and I delight in reviewing our accomplishments from 2022:

Business Highlights

Commercial

  • Cruise lines returned to Ketchikan for the first full tourism season in two years.
  • Cape Fox Lodge launched a very successful joint marketing campaign in partnership with Baranof Fishing for the second year.
  • Cape Fox Lodge launched a very successful joint marketing campaign in partnership with Alaska Dream Cruise.
  • New website for Sweet Mermaids

Federal

  • New website pages for Occupational Health and USAID COVID recruitment and a page for Wolf Lake Services, LLC and Cape Fox Mission Systems, LLC
  • We welcomed a new Federal Contracting Group (FCG) subsidiary with Cape Fox Mission Systems, LLC
  • Wolf Lake Services received its 8(a) certification.
  • FCG won several new contracts and new customers, including contracts with the Department of State, United States Agency for International Development, U.S. Army, Department of Homeland Security Immigration and Customs Enforcement, Office of Personnel Management, Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation, U.S. Army Information Systems Engineering Command Joint Interagency Task Force, U.S. Army Medical Department Activity, Federal Transit Administration, and United States Department of the Treasury Alcohol and Tobacco Tax and Trade Bureau

Corporate

  • The company had another year of increased revenue
  • CFC rose in rankings again for the Top 49ers from #28 in 2021 to #26 in 2022
  • May 2022 CFC supported a Stream Restoration Workforce Development Training Workshop hosted by Southeast Alaska Watershed Coalition (SAWC) and Ketchikan Indian Community (KIC) by lending the use of Ward Cove
  • The Ketchikan Innovation Hub debuted, which was created to develop emerging and smart technologies that provide, enhance, and strengthen native communities.
  • CFC launched new pages on the corporate website for the Eugene Trout Scholarship and Philanthropy, including Cape Fox Cultural Foundation and CFC’s new Innovation Hub under Nooya Lake.
  • Every social media platform saw an increase in followers over the year, surpassing the initial 2022 goal of followers
  • Press releases had a greater pick-up from larger news agencies

Philanthropy Highlights – Cape Fox Cares Program

We have done more fundraisers this year than in previous years to support the Cape Fox Cultural Foundation, Law Enforcement, Alaska Businesses, Toys for Tots, and Education.

  • January 2022 – Cape Fox Cares supported our local first responders by donating to the Battlefield Lodge Charitable Foundation
  • March 2022 – Cape Fox Cares provided Jonathan Williams with a donation to represent Alaska at the Special Olympics
  • April 2022-July 2022 – an online fundraiser was held to support Cape Fox Cultural Foundation
  • June 2022 – Cape Fox Cares contributed to the Smart Community STEM Camp (SCSC), which assisted with enabling 25 children to attend the SCSC STEM Camp in Quantico, Virginia, June 27-30, 2022
  • November 2022 – CFC hosted its annual Turkey Drive for Thanksgiving
  • December 2022 – Eagle Health, Cape Fox FCG, and Cape Fox Facilities Services sponsored Toys for Tots events at various locations nationwide
  • December 2022 – CFC hosted its annual Christmas Dinner Drive for Christmas

  • AAA awarded Cape Fox Lodge for Best of Housekeeping
  • 108 Taphouse and Burger Bar was awarded the top-recommended restaurant in Ketchikan by Restaurant Guru
  • There were 5 Commercial Tinàa Awards presented throughout the year for employee excellence

  • There were 25 Federal Tinàa Awards were presented throughout the year for employee excellence
