Cape Fox Corporation (CFC) shines a spotlight on a highly regarded employee at Cape Fox Lodge (CFL), Chris Lemerond. Chris started working for CFC as a Line Cook at CFL’s Heen Kahidi restaurant in May 2013. Chris is hardworking, and his talents stand out to many of the restaurant’s patrons and staff as exceptional. Chris is a chef who is not afraid of taking risks and has created meals considered works of art. His creativity, hard work, and dedication makes him stand out. He exemplifies the spirit of Cape Fox, and we are delighted to honor him with a Cape Fox Tinàa Award for Employee Excellence.
Chris was nominated for a Cape Fox Employee Spotlight by Cape Fox Lodge Office Manager Michelle Lewis. Michelle remarked that “over the last eight years, Chef Chris has propelled the culinary scene in Ketchikan to a whole new level. His talent and vision to always create both culinary masterpieces and delicious cuisine allow us the opportunity to experience his passion. Food is his life…the kitchen is his domain, and we are all the lucky recipients of his amazing hard work and dedication.”
The Cape Fox Tinàa Award for Employee Excellence is presented to those employees who stand out for their dedication and hard work, and Chris exemplifies these traits. His culinary creativity cooks up excellence for CFC, and he leads his culinary team with confidence as he sets examples and mentors other chefs to greatness. Chris is passionate about his career as a chef, and he is often designing new dishes and menus. Chris is equally passionate about enjoying time with his sons and exploring the vast Alaskan wilderness outside of work. His talents also do not end in the kitchen. Chris has a unique and beautiful eye for photography. When he has the opportunity, he also donates his time to various clubs and organizations in the community where he has made his home and that he loves.
